De Aanspreekpersoon Integriteit, ook API genoemd, is binnen YFU Vlaanderen het eerste aanspreekpunt voor wie een vraag, opmerking, klacht of andere boodschap heeft in verband met integriteit. Integriteit is elke vorm van grensoverschrijdend gedrag, lichamelijk, seksueel, psychisch,… Spreken over grensoverschrijdend gedrag zoals pesten, discriminatie, agressie, seksueel ongepast gedrag,… als je het zelf meemaakt is dat niet makkelijk. Wanneer dit gedrag over je grens gaat of over de grens van anderen en als je kan en wil, is er altijd iemand die wil luisteren en zal proberen te helpen.

Iedereen kan bij de API terecht: student, gastgezin, gastbroer, gastzus,…. maar ook als personeelslid, vrijwilliger, counselor …

WAT DOEN ONZE API’S ?

Onze API’s luisteren naar je verhaal en nemen elke melding serieus. Ze bieden ondersteuning, volgen verder op en gaan samen met jou manieren zoeken om zo goed mogelijk met de zaak om te gaan en te laten stoppen. De API’s gaan discreet om met elke situatie. Echter wanneer zij inschatten dat er gevaar is voor de melder of de ander moeten zij hier verder mee gaan. Altijd in overleg met de melder. Ze hebben discretieplicht maar geen beroepsgeheim. Bij YFU Vlaanderen kan je terecht bij Jacob en Nathalie voor vragen, advies of hulp. Zij luisteren naar je verhaal of vraag en behandelen je melding in alle vertrouwen.

WIE ZIJN ONZE API'S?

Jacob De Proft en Nathalie Beets zijn de Aanspreekpersonen Integriteit (API) binnen YFU Vlaanderen. Zij hebben beide de nodige opleidingen gevolgd. Beiden hebben veel ervaring met uiteenlopende situaties die zich bij uitwisselingsstudenten en hun gezinnen voordoen.
Je kan zelf kiezen met wie van onze API’s je in vertrouwen je verhaal wil delen .

The Integrity Contact Person, also called API, is the first point of contact within YFU Flanders for those who have a question, comment, complaint or other message related to integrity. Integrity is any form of transgressive behaviour, physically, sexually, psychologically,... Speaking about transgressive behavior such as bullying, discrimination, aggression, sexually inappropriate behaviour,... if you have experienced it yourself it is not easy. When this behavior goes beyond your limits or the limits of others and if you can and will, there is always someone who will listen and will try to help.

Everyone can contact the API: student, host family, host brother, host sister, ... but also as a staff member, volunteer, counselor ...

WHAT DO OUR API'S DO?

Our APIs listen to your story and take every report seriously. They offer support, follow up and look together with you for ways to deal with the case as best as possible and to have it stopped. The APIs handle every situation discreetly. However, when they estimate that there is danger for the reporter or others, they must proceed with this. Always in consultation with the reporter. They have a duty of discretion but no professional secrecy. At YFU Flanders you can contact Jacob and Nathalie for questions, advice or help. They listen to your story or question and treat your report with confidence.

Jacob De Proft and Nathalie Beets are the Contact Persons for Integrity (API) within YFU Flanders. They have both followed the necessary training. Both have a lot of experience with various situations that arise with exchange students and their families.
